What is FireStarter FX?

FireStarter FX is a Mac OS X exclusive disk image burner and creator similar to Toast, but which allows to burn some disk images that even Toast or Apple's Disk Utility cannot.  FireStarter FX has been reported to be one of the rare software running on Mac OS X High Sierra capable of burning PowerPC boot CD's (e.g.: Mac OS 8.5 install boot CD from 1998).  FireStarter FX is programmed in pure Cocoa making it an universal binary (PPC + Intel).  Unfortunately, there never was a true final release, only a release candidate 1, and the project was abandoned, but astonishingly, more than a DECADE later, it still runs perfectly on the latest Mac OS X High Sierra version and it still covers for the lack of other software, including Apple's own Disk Utility!
