What is RagTime Classic 2.1X [de_DE]?

RagTime is a DTP + Office soloution. The original version was that popular in Europe that Apple started to ship an older version of the software with every Macintosh called RagTime Classic. RagTime is considered one of the selling points for Macs in Europe. It's unique feature set between a fully usable office package and DTP was unheard of before (and maybe even after).

On other platforms and outside Europe the software could never achieve the same level of success.

For most classic Macintosh computers Version 3.2 is recommend. For Mac OS X Version 5.6 is to be preferred. For private use 3.2 and 5.6 are freeware.

The most recent Version 6.6 is commercially available for latest OS X and Windows Versions (including Retina screens, Windows 10... ).
