What is CodeWarrior 8 Gold?

CodeWarrior 8 Gold includes CodeWarrior IDE 1.4 (plus 1.5b2 as a bonus) with Win32/x86 Support, BeOS Support, Magic Cap Support and of course 68K and PPC Mac OS Support.  C/C++ is supported for all platforms.  Pascal is supported for Mac OS.

(Aside from some of the digital copies of normally dead-tree books included in the Discover Programming edition, this is the most complete edition.)

Compatibility notes

Metrowerks Codewarrior CW8 requires the following:

  • A Mac OS computer with a MC68020, MC68030, MC68040, or PowerPC
  • 8 megabytes of RAM
  • Color QuickDraw
  • Mac OS System 7.1 or later
  • A CD-ROM drive to install the software.

For optimum performance, we recommend the following:

  • A Mac OS computer equipped with a MC68040 OR PowerPC
  • 16 megabytes of RAM.

  • Mini vMac (iOS) and System 7.5.5
