What is SpeedManiac?

Ever wonder how much those ads slow down your internet connection? A lot. SpeedManiac can help you get some sanity back by blocking ads, large graphics, flash animations and javascripts, especially if you have a modem connection. When you replace some ads with a white space some web pages load in half the time they used to.

By replacing some ads with a blank space some web pages will load many seconds faster for you, and if you change your mind and want to load a web page in full simply hold down the option or shift key while the page loads. It is that simple. Option-Command-. (Period) also toggles filtering on and off for your convenience.

SpeedManiac is a highly optimized, lean HTTP proxy that accelerates your internet browser by blocking ads. All web browsers can benefit from the extra bandwidth. For some time trials please see the end of this document.
