What is ffmpegX? ffmpegX is a software interface providing a graphical way of operating existing, third-party Unix tools listed hereafter, without needing to type command lines in terminal. Graphical controls are sent programmatically to such external components developed by third parties and running outside the ffmpegX application. In order to comply with applicable laws and licenses which may vary from country to country, no such third-party software component allowing mpeg-2 encoding or DVD decryption is included in ffmpegX. In addition, ffmpegX doesn't allow to select a DVD disk device as input. ffmpegX v0.0.9a Oct 25, 2003 Download ffmpegX for Mac
Architecture: PPC Mac OS X
HOW TO INSTALL: 1. Run the "ffmpegX engines installer" application and follow instructions printed on the window to install the mencoder, mplayer and mpeg2enc components in your system. These components are not included in the ffmpegX application itself to comply with applicable laws and licensing terms and you will need to download them from the URL indicated in the installer application window. Use only the versions provided at the indicated URL (if you install other versions of the binaries, the application may not work). Please note that to install version 0.0.7d you must run again the engines installer even if you already installed a previous version, as it adds new important components like the OCR modules and the stablest versions of mencoder and mplayer. 2. Install libogg, libvorbis and subtitle font by running the enclosed packages. 3. Copy the ffmpegX application in your Applications folder.
