From your safe perch above the jungle, pan down to a poisonous frog and click away for a description and other options on amphibians. Or move to a Midwestern marsh, or an English forest, for a picturesque glimpse at all sorts of critters.
It’s DR’s latest stab at categorizing every living thing, and this one has all the usual fixin’s: beautiful scenery, easy navigation, and lots of links. Laid out in eight categories is everything considered alive, from falcons to fungi. Wander around habitats or check out prehistoric life. New on this disc: the views seen by some animals, compared with those of humans.
But with only a few animals, the vision activity isn’t taken far enough. For that matter, the rest of the disc doesn’t climb above the basics. And there’s no Back button, leaving you like a yippity dog on linoleum, wanting to change direction but hitting the wall anyway.
