What is ShrinkWrap 2.1?

ShrinkWrap is a utility for handling disk images. It is able to create, mount, and verify them. It is capable of converting between image formats and supports drag and drop operation. It also utilizes AppleScript to provide automation.

Version 2.1 is the last version of ShrinkWrap released prior to its purchase by Aladdin.

Here’s a shocker: Disks copied via the Finder by dragging icons are not exact duplicates of the source disks from which they were copied. Most of the time, that’s no big deal, but it can be a problem if you need an exact duplicate (such as when making backup copies of your software installation disks). ShrinkWrap lets you create disk images that are identical to the source disk and are usable as if they were disks themselves. As an added bonus, these disk images can take less space than the actual disks. Version 3.0, which includes some very cool new features, is on the way.
