What is AppletAce 1.0?

This was the first Java application which allowed designers and graphic artists to easily enhance their Web sites with Macromedia's Java PowerApplets. No  HTML or Java programming required. AppletAce was available free of charge from Macromedia's Web site and  offered an easy-to-use GUI for customizing applets, extending the power of Java and broaden an non-technical Web designer audience.

AppletAce was used to enhance Web pages with Java based animated banners, interactive image maps, animated bullets and dynamic charts. It was ideal for advertising, interactive entertainment, education and corporate uses. Through the use pop-up menus, radio buttons and text fields applet customization could be achieved.
