What is Hanseat?

A medieval trading / strategy game from Germany. The game takes place at the time of the Hanseatic League in which you play a merchant from the city of Lübeck. Try to become so rich and influential that you'll become the new mayor of Lübeck. Not an easy task.

Author Frank Börner developed the game on his tuned-up Performa 630 (68040 - 40 MHz) and distributed Hanseat as shareware. Unfortunately, according to the readme, he ran into a company called Banach EDV which would distribute / sell Hanseat without his permission.

The game is completely in German language.
