What is Mac OS X Developer Previews (DP)? Before Mac OS X was released as Beta in 2000, Apple released the developer preview builds, which are Mac OS X DP1, DP2, DP3 and DP4. The appearance changed from DP2 to DP3 because they introduced the Aqua theme. Refer to the screenshots above.
